Murudeshwar Temple

Murudeshwar Temple, rising majestically between sky and sea, is one of Karnataka’s most iconic spiritual landmarks. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is crowned by a 123-foot-tall statue of the deity gazing serenely over the waves. Its 20-storey gopuram offers breathtaking views of the Arabian horizon, while the rhythmic roar of the sea merges with temple bells. Legend ties Murudeshwar to the epic Ramayana — it is here that a fragment of the divine Atma Linga was enshrined.
